Google is once again testing out Dark theme for its Search page. The last time users reported seeing a dark theme was last month.

How to Use Tor with Firefox. Tor protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world. It prevents somebody watching your Internet connection from learning what sites. Nov 11, 2020 Enabling dark mode in Firefox on iPhone and iPad is simple because all you need to do is open the hamburger menu and tap Enable Night Mode. Android devices do not have this option available.

Dark theme for the world's most visited page will follow your preferred Windows or macOS theme. If you've set yours to Light then Google Search will remain unchanged, set it to Dark and you'll be greeted with the new Dark theme.

Dark theme doesn't make the background completely black, but rather a very dark grey. Text has changed from black to white while links seemingly remain blue.

Google is still in the A/B testing phase so you may not have the change available just yet. Once you do, Google Search will greet you with a message about the new Dark theme with the option to enable it or go on as usual. There's no word when the Dark theme will carry over to your mobile browser's Search.

You could just change the background to solid black from bottom-right corner (customize this page).

Dark

In the last few months I got it several times with Firefox. I know it´s random, but I like it a lot.

They should put the dark mode on the new tab page of chrome browser where it's actually needed.

Mozilla today launched Firefox 68 for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS. Firefox 68 includes a darker reader view, recommended extensions, IT Pro customizations, and more.

Firefox 68 for desktop is available for download now on Firefox.com, and all existing users should be able to upgrade to it automatically. The Android version is trickling out slowly on Google Play, while the iOS release is available on Apple’s App Store. According to Mozilla, Firefox has about 250 million active users, making it a major platform for web developers to consider.

As part of this release, Mozilla has curated a list of recommended extensions “that have been thoroughly reviewed for security, usability, and usefulness.” You can find the list on the Get Add-ons page in the Firefox Add-ons Manager (about:addons).

Windows, Mac, and Linux

While Firefox has had dark mode for months, the Reader View’s dark contrast only covered the text area. Now, when you change the contrast to dark, all sections of the site (including sidebars and toolbars) will be immersed in dark mode.

With Firefox 60, Mozilla introduced an enterprise version of the browser that employers can customize. This let IT professionals configure Firefox for their organization, either using Group Policy on Windows or a JSON file that works across Windows, Mac, and Linux.

With Firefox 68, Mozilla has added more enterprise policies — to configure or remove the new tab page, turn off search suggestions, and so on (full list.

Redesigned extensions dashboard in about:addons provides easy access to information about your extensions, including data and settings access required by each extension.
  • Find high quality, secure extensions via the Recommended Extensions program in about:addons, which now displays user count and ratings for each extension. “Recommended” badges for these extensions also appear on AMO. More extensions will be added over time.
  • Cryptomining and fingerprinting protections are added to strict content blocking settings in Privacy & Security preferences.
  • WebRender will roll out to Windows 10 users with AMD graphics cards.
  • Windows Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) update download support, which allows Firefox update downloads to continue when Firefox is closed.

  • Camera and microphone access now require an HTTPS connection.
  • The way non-default preferences are synced has changed. Please see this support article for more details.
  • For all operating systems, we have a number of additional policies including: New tab page configuration and disabling, local file links, download behavior, search suggestions, managed storage for using policies in Webextensions, extension whitelisting and blacklisting by ID and website, a subset of commonly used Firefox preferences. You can see a full list of policies here.
  • Firefox Developer Tools now offers a full page color contrast audit that identifies all elements on a page that fail color contrast checks.

Firefox 68 for Android is a minor release. The main addition is the Web Authentication API, which the desktop release got in May 2018.

Firefox for Android is typically updated at the same time as the desktop release, while iOS is not. This time, however, the Android team is mainly focused on Firefox Preview while the iOS app is getting the more notable update.

Firefox for iOS has gained two new features. Mozilla has added a Recently Bookmarked section to bookmarks and support for editing all bookmarks. As a result, iOS users can now finally reorder, rename, or update bookmark URLs. Additionally, iOS users can now set sites to always open in Desktop Version. This is particularly useful for sites that aren’t optimized for mobile, where the desktop version just makes more sense. Mozilla also added a badge to help iOS users identify when a site is being displayed in desktop mode.

Mozilla releases new Firefox versions every six to eight weeks, and Firefox 69 is currently slated for early September.
